If you haven't heard in my previous post, Man on Mars is a concept EP of one man's journey to Mars and back. This theme is driven by grooving low end and enchanting and sometimes haunting melodies. Just a little over 23 minutes, it's an album you can sit and drift away in your own version of the story or get caught up in the rhythms.
I know you will enjoy.

This week though, they had open submissions and mine was selected. "The Calm" is exactly that, hope you enjoy.
This sample we all recieved was great, Ventla's "Technical Support", and I had fun with it. Check out the other flips.
I'm starting a series, called Cooking Up Beats with Josh Spoon, where I share how I make music and what I've learned. This is the first and an overview of Ableton Live 9's Max for Live devices, Envelope Follower, LFO and an instrument I made called My Favorite Martian (donations excepted :)) My Favorite Martian (Melodic Ableton Live 9 Instrument v1)
[bandcamp track=2291202115 bgcol=fafafa linkcol=1f9e36 size=venti] King Red is a celebration of achievement for our astronaut. Don't know what I'm talking about, well I'm working on an EP called Man on Mars.
Release date coming soon.
It's Dilla's birthday.
I don't know everything about James Yancey but one thing I do know is he inspired me to do my own thing and there is a world of people who like instrumental experimental hip hop. If it wasn't for stumbling on to him, I'd probably be trying to sell $5 beats on sound click. Which I don't knock but I don't think it's for me. Listening to him and DOOM taught me I got to express myself how I express myself and not to rely on someone else to get that expression out.
Here's a Spotify playlist I made of some of my favorites.
XmasBreaks is a project first done in 2010 where I flip popular Christmas songs. This is the second installment. Show some love, download and share.
Here is the 2010 XmasBreaks with video.
This song is a descent into bass madness. Listen and please share and download if you. Enjoy [bandcamp track=3328697529 bgcol=FFFFFF linkcol=50bb42 size=venti]
