[soundcloud url="" params="" width=" 100%" height="166" iframe="true" /] Team Supreme is a weekly Beat Cypher here in L.A., that is regulated by a sample and a BPM and is usually available to a select few. This week though, they had open submissions and mine was selected. "The Calm" is exactly that, hope you enjoy.

This sample we all recieved was great, Ventla's "Technical Support", and I had fun with it. Check out the other flips.

Dilla's Birthday and Influence

Dilla It's Dilla's birthday.

I don't know everything about James Yancey but one thing I do know is he inspired me to do my own thing and there is a world of people who like instrumental experimental hip hop. If it wasn't for stumbling on to him, I'd probably be trying to sell $5 beats on sound click. Which I don't knock but I don't think it's for me. Listening to him and DOOM taught me I got to express myself how I express myself and not to rely on someone else to get that expression out.

Here's a Spotify playlist I made of some of my favorites.
